Robazo Piave is an Italian technical variety of red wine grape, primarily cultivated in the Veneto region in northern Italy. The vines are vigorous with large leaves that are deeply lobed, having five or seven lobes, with bristles along the edges and veins on the underside. The flowers are hermaphroditic, which promotes stable fruit set. The clusters of Robazo Piave are large, cylindrical, and of medium density, while the berries are dark blue or blue-black, covered with a waxy bloom, giving them a distinctive appearance. The variety is characterized by a late ripening period and high yield, which remains quite stable year after year. Thanks to its hardiness and disease resistance, Robazo Piave is well-adapted to the climatic conditions of the Veneto region. These characteristics make it in demand for winemaking, especially in the production of red wines with intense color, fruity aroma, and balanced acidity. Robazo Piave is widely used both in varietal wines and in blends, where it is a key component of such well-known wines as Piava Malanott and Banoli Friularo. Wines based on this variety are rich and expressive, making them popular among connoisseurs of red wines from the Veneto province and other regions of Italy.
