Grüner Tamansky is a mid-late white grape variety originating from Austria or Italy. The bushes of this variety are of medium height with perfect flowers, and the leaves are five-lobed with light webby pubescence on the underside. The bunches are of medium size and dense, with round green-yellow berries that may have brown spots. The berry pulp is juicy with a characteristic fruity-spicy flavor reminiscent of freshly ground pepper. The sugar content in the berries is approximately 18.25 g/100 cm3, and acidity is 7.82 g/dm3. The yield of the variety is high, reaching 107.5 c/ha, however, to obtain quality wine material, cluster load regulation is required. The variety has a medium degree of resistance to diseases and pests.
The grape Grüner Tamansky is widely used in the production of quality wines in Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and other countries. Wines from this variety are distinguished by a light fresh taste, light straw color with a greenish tint and a mineral-fruity aroma with light spicy notes. Thanks to unique production technologies, such as fermentation in oak vessels and short-term aging, it is possible to create elegant and harmonious wines with high gastronomics.
These wines go perfectly with a variety of dishes, including seafood, poultry dishes, salmon in caviar sauce, as well as lasagna with mushrooms and cheese. Grüner Tamansky is a variety that, with proper care and limiting yield, allows obtaining high-quality wines with expressive taste and aroma, in demand by both experts and wine lovers.
