The Arkaim apple variety is a winter variety of Ural selection, created based on the cross of Yablonka Vyudubetskaya Plakuchaya and Ural Winter. This variety was bred by specialists of the Orenburg Experimental Station of Horticulture and Viticulture VSTISP and is distinguished by early fruiting, winter hardiness, and resistance to scab. The tree is a natural semi-dwarf or trailing tree with a crown of medium density, reaching a height of up to 3 meters on seedling rootstocks and up to 1.5-2 meters on clonal ones. Branches depart from the trunk at a right angle, and leaves are large, elongated, and oval. Arkaim apple fruits are large, weighing about 170-190 grams, round and regular shape, slightly ribbed. The skin is tender, smooth, and oily, colored greenish-yellow with a brownish-red blush, and the flesh is greenish, medium density, juicy, and has a sweet-and-sour taste with a slight spiciness. Sugar content is about 9.7%, acidity 0.8%, and vitamin C is 15%. The aroma of the fruits is weak but pleasant. The tasting evaluation of the variety reaches 4.2 points, indicating a high quality of taste. The Arkaim variety is distinguished by high yield and early fruiting - already in the 2-3rd year after planting. Apples ripen in the third decade of September and can be stored for up to 100 days, which allows them to be used fresh, as well as for making compotes and jams. Thanks to its winter hardiness and resistance to scab, the variety is recommended for growing in the Ural region and the Orenburg region, and also successfully adapts to other districts with similar climatic conditions.
