Gerkules

The Hercules grape variety is a mid-late dessert variety intended for fresh consumption and suitable for long-term storage. The berries are round, with an average weight of about 6-7 grams, and have a pinkish hue. The clusters are large, weighing from 1000 to 2000 grams, with crunchy flesh and a very good taste, featuring light muscat notes. The variety is characterized by vigorous growth and perfect flower, contributing to high yields reaching up to 150 centners per hectare. Hercules was developed through generative hybridization at the «Magarach» Scientific Research Institute. It possesses genetically determined resistance to various biotic and abiotic environmental factors, ensuring its adaptation to different growing conditions. However, the variety has low resistance to fungal diseases, particularly powdery mildew, and under humid weather conditions, clusters may become rotting. For successful cultivation, covering the bushes for winter is recommended, as well as using rooting agents and applying growth stimulants to ensure high survival rates of saplings. The frost resistance of the Hercules variety reaches temperatures down to -21 °C, allowing its cultivation in regions with moderately cold climates. Due to its qualities and characteristics, this grape is widely used for fresh consumption and storage, making it an attractive choice for both enthusiasts and professional viticulturists.
