AGAT DONSKOI

Vine variety Agat Donsky is a vigorous table variety bred at the Potapenko Research Institute of Viticulture and Vinification in Novocherkassk. This complex interspecific hybrid is distinguished by high winter hardiness, withstanding temperatures down to -25-27°C, and resistance to major grape diseases such as mildew, oidium, and berry gray mold. The variety's shoots ripen well but are prone to overyielding; therefore, yield regulation and pruning of fruit canes to 6-8 buds is recommended to maintain bush health and fruit quality.

Bunches on Agat Donsky are large, conical, weighing from 400 to 600 grams. Berries are round, dark blue, weighing about 5 grams, with a dense skin and juicy, fleshy pulp. The berry taste is simple, with sugar content of 13-15% and acidity of 6-7 g/l. Berries do not crack during rain, ensuring high transportability and excellent preservation qualities. Thanks to these characteristics, the grape is suitable for fresh consumption as well as processing.

The variety is characterized by high drought resistance and is practically not affected by flies, which facilitates its cultivation. In addition, Agat Donsky grape can be recommended for consumption by people with diabetes due to its beneficial properties.
