Tomich Garlic: Superior Shelf Life and Culinary Profile

The winter garlic variety "Tomich" is a product of specialized breeding by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production. Designed for durability, this variety serves as a robust solution for growers focused on high-quality produce that can withstand long-term storage and industrial processing.

What sets Tomich apart from similar winter varieties is its exceptional market longevity. While many standard varieties lose weight and vitality by mid-winter, Tomich maintains its firm texture and sharp flavor profile, making it a preferred option for storage facilities aiming to supply the market during the off-season.

Key Advantages for Production

• Flavor Profile: Pronounced spiciness that is highly valued by processors and the fresh retail market alike.
• Storage Capabilities: Excellent post-harvest stability, significantly reducing waste in storage.
• Usage: Dual-purpose variety suitable for fresh produce sales and industrial processing applications.

For agronomists, the main consideration is soil management. Tomich performs best in well-drained soil environments. It is susceptible to waterlogging during the dormant period, so proper site selection or ridging is essential to avoid yield loss. This variety is an ideal choice for commercial producers who prioritize stable quality and consistent supply to the high-value fresh market.
