Komsomolets garlic is a winter-hardy variety with excellent agronomic characteristics and outstanding frost resistance. It was specifically bred for cultivation in the Central Chernozem region and other areas with a moderate climate, demonstrating resistance to frost and drought. Thanks to its unpretentiousness and adaptability, this variety allows for abundant harvests as early as June-July, making it one of the best among winter garlic varieties.

Komsomolets garlic bulbs are large, round-flat in shape, weighing from 30 to 100 grams and containing from 6 to 12 cloves. Dry scales have a dirty-white color with a purple tint, while juicy ones are purple or brownish-purple. The flesh is dense, juicy, with a distinctly pronounced sharp taste without foreign aftertastes. The ripening period is mid-season – from 100 to 120 days, which allows for effective harvest planning.

For successful garlic cultivation, Komsomolets recommends choosing open, well-lit areas with neutral acidity soils. The variety is drought-resistant but requires proper care, including adherence to planting rules, pest and disease control, as well as proper harvesting and storage. Thanks to these features, Komsomolets is popular among gardeners and ensures a stable high yield – up to 1.4 kg per square meter.
