Description Sofia
The Sofia garlic variety, also known as Sofiivskyi, is a high-yielding winter variety of Ukrainian selection bred in the 1990s by the Uman Agricultural Academy. This variety is characterized by high resistance to extreme temperatures and frost hardiness, allowing it to grow successfully and produce a stable yield even under unfavorable climatic conditions. Thanks to its adaptability, Sofia garlic is suitable for cultivation in various regions and is widely used both in suburban plots and in gardens.

Sofia garlic belongs to mid-season varieties and is characterized by the formation of shoots. The garlic bulbs weigh about 50 grams and contain approximately 7-8 cloves with purple veins, giving them an attractive appearance. The taste qualities of the variety are highly rated, making it in demand for both home use and culinary processing.

One of the important advantages of the Sofia variety is its high shelf life—garlic retains its properties and freshness for up to 11 months, which ensures the convenience of long-term storage and use. To increase yield and improve the quality of planting material, it is recommended to grow garlic from air, that is, to use aerial bulbs and one-clove bulbs as seeds. This contributes to improving the quality and quantity of the future crop.
