Amber

Amber snap beans are a medium-maturity bush variety of snap beans with medium-length yellow beans that lack a parchment layer and tough fibers. Thanks to these features, the beans possess excellent taste qualities and are widely used in cooking, as well as suitable for freezing, which allows to preserve their useful properties and taste for a long time.


Growing the Amber variety requires compliance with certain agronomic conditions. Planting is carried out in the open ground in late spring, when the soil is well warmed, at a depth of 3-5 cm. It is recommended to choose fertile, non-clay soils with a deep groundwater table. Before planting, the soil is dug with the addition of manure, saltpeter, potassium, and dolomite flour. Seeds are soaked in hot water, disinfected with a manganese solution, and planted in holes with a distance of about 20 cm between them. During the growing process, it is important to avoid over-wetting and to avoid using chlorine-containing fertilizers, as the crop is heat-loving and sensitive to such conditions.

Care for plants includes regular watering, soil loosening, feeding, and protection from diseases and pests. Thanks to the absence of tough fibers, Amber snap beans are more dietary compared to classic shelled beans, which makes them an excellent choice for healthy eating. This variety is suitable for both fresh consumption and freezing, which expands the possibilities of its application in home and professional cooking.
