Bean PROTV

Field Performance: Focusing on Compactness and Resilience

For intensive vegetable production, the choice of variety often hinges on predictability and operational simplicity. 'Protva' is a solution designed for those who value efficiency: the compact plant, reaching 30-40 cm, eliminates the need for trellising or complex support structures. This low-profile habit significantly simplifies mechanized maintenance and harvesting, reducing crop damage during equipment operations.

Agronomic Reliability

One of the primary challenges in growing string beans is susceptibility to disease. 'Protva' stands out due to its inherent resistance to bacteriosis. This is crucial for maintaining the marketability of the pods, as the lack of infection sites reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications. Furthermore, the variety demonstrates strong resistance to anthracnose and various viral mosaics, making it a reliable choice for fields with high disease pressure.

Technical Specifications

• Growth cycle: Up to 65 days, facilitating efficient harvest scheduling.
• Type: Asparagus (sugar) bean, ideal for fresh market consumption and processing.
• Seeding data: 1000-seed weight is 220–240 grams, ensuring compatibility with standard precision seeders.

The short maturity period ensures that the crop reaches its full potential even in regions with shorter growing seasons. By minimizing the maintenance requirements, 'Protva' serves as an effective tool for producers aiming to maximize yield while keeping operational costs and labor inputs under control.
