The plant is bushy, ranging from 35 cm to 3 m in height depending on the description, with dark green or green leaves that may be slightly wrinkled or wrinkled. Flowers on the Protv variety may be medium-sized purple or small white, indicating possible variations within the variety. Pods have an oval cross-section, with a length ranging from 14.5 to 20 cm and a width from 0.86 to 1.2 cm. At the technical maturity stage, they are light green or light yellow, without a parchment layer or fibers, making them particularly suitable for consumption and processing. The top of the pods is pointed or blunt with a short beak. The seeds of the bean are elliptical or narrow-elliptical in shape, black or white with varying degrees of venation, with a mass of 1000 seeds varying from 213 to 825 g.

The Protv variety is characterized by good marketable yield, ranging from 1.1 to 4 kg of pods per square meter, making it attractive for garden and vegetable plots and small farms. The plant is resistant to air and soil drought, as well as low temperature regimes, which expands the possibilities for its cultivation in various climatic conditions. In addition, Protv beans are resistant to diseases such as anthracnose, bacteriosis, and common bean mosaic virus, which reduces the risk of yield losses and the need for intensive chemical protection.

The use of Protv beans is diverse: it is suitable for fresh consumption, culinary processing, freezing, and canning. The absence of a parchment layer and fibers at early stages of pod development ensures a pleasant taste and ease of cooking dishes. The height of attachment of lower pods varies from 12 to 40 cm, which affects the ease of harvest collection.
