Artemisia "Amethyst Donetsk" – medium-maturity variety, reaches first cut in 80 days. The bush has a straight shape, the stem is slightly drooping, height 88–112 cm, 8–10 internodes. Plant density in solid plantings is 5–8 per square meter, and in wide-row – 10–20 pieces.
Leaves are dark green in color, elliptical in shape, without or with weak margin. Waxy coating is absent, leaves are soft and easily processed. The variety is characterized by high drought resistance, winter hardiness and resistance to main diseases, which makes it suitable for growing in the steppe zone.
Average yield of dry matter – 75.9 c/ha, maximum – 128.0 c/ha. Protein content is 14.8 %, and cellulose – 34.7 %. Seeds were developed based on Donetsk Institute of Appan and are suitable for spring sowing in open ground. Storage complexity up to 5 years under proper conditions ensures long-term availability of the product.
