Baklazan Midas F1 (PL 0521 F1) — new ultra-early hybrid from Dutch selection by Bakker Brothers, suitable for cultivation in open and covered ground, including plastic greenhouses. The vegetative period is 55-60 days from transplanting seedlings, allowing for an early harvest. The plant is strong, with a well-developed root system and abundant foliage, resistant to low temperatures, heat, drought, and other stress conditions, ensuring stable fruit set and high productivity even under variable weather. The Midas eggplant fruits are oval-cylindrical, up to 17 cm long and about 7 cm in diameter, weighing 300-400 g. The skin is dark purple, glossy and shiny, without thorns, facilitating harvesting. These qualities are retained even during prolonged storage and transport. The flesh is light flesh-toned, dense, crisp, free of bitterness, with a small seed cavity, making the fruits especially tasty and versatile for use fresh or processed, such as for caviar, pickling, or freezing.
