Astrakom is a mid-season eggplant variety intended for cultivation in open ground and under film coverings. Plants of this variety are compact, reaching a height of 60 to 90 cm, which facilitates care and harvesting. Fruits have a cylindrical shape, glossy-black color, a length of 20 to 22 cm, and a diameter of 3.5-6 cm. Fruit mass varies within the range of 123-200 g, while the flesh is characterized by a white color, dense structure, and absence of bitterness, making them particularly attractive to consumers.
The Astrakom variety is characterized by high yield — from 2.1 to 4.5 kg per square meter, which ensures stable fruiting. It possesses complex resistance to a number of common diseases, including anthracnose, phytophthora, fusarium wilt, and fruit blossom end rot. Such resistance significantly reduces the risk of crop losses and reduces the need for frequent use of chemical protective agents.
Astrakom eggplants are versatile in application. They are recommended for both fresh consumption and for canning, pickling, drying, and preparing fried dishes, such as oil-fried circles. Excellent taste qualities and dense flesh make this variety in demand both in home and industrial vegetable growing.
