Dill of the Summer Hit variety is one of the best mid-season varieties for obtaining high-quality greens. The vegetative period from germination to harvesting greens is 35-45 days, and to harvesting spices is 70-80 days. Plants form compact, densely foliated bushes with a raised rosette of leaves, which facilitates care and reduces leaf contamination after rain. Leaves are dark green with a bluish tint and a weak waxy coating, juicy, tender, and possess a strong pleasant aroma, which makes dill sought after for use fresh, dried, salted, and canned.
The variety is resistant to bolting, which allows extending the period of fresh green yield and performing multiple cuttings. The mass of one plant at harvesting greens reaches 35 grams, and at harvesting spices - 55 grams. Commercial yield is 3.3-3.8 kg/m² at harvesting greens and 4.9-5.1 kg/m² at harvesting spices. Thanks to dense foliation and compact internode form, plants are brought closer, which contributes to high productivity.
Dill Summer Hit is intended for cultivation both in open ground and in film greenhouses. For obtaining early greens, sowing in the second half of November with covering seeds with peat to 2-3 cm or early spring under film is recommended. During the spring-summer period, sows can be repeated every 10-15 days, which ensures a continuous supply of fresh greens. The plant is used from the moment of appearance of 2-3 true leaves and until the beginning of flowering, which makes the variety universal and convenient for various methods of application.
