Description SOLOKOL
Sokolov is a variety of daikon (Raphanus sativus L. ssp. acanthiformis) intended for cultivation in open ground and in landscape-horticultural enterprises. The variety is characterized by a medium maturity period: from full germination to the beginning of technical maturity – 63–70 days, which makes it suitable for both summer and autumn sowing.

The daikon root of the Sokolov variety has a cylindrical shape with a smooth white skin. The root length ranges from 30 to 50 cm, and the mass is about 0.9–1.0 kg (in some sources, 700–760 g is indicated). The end part of the root is cone-shaped, giving it a characteristic appearance. The flesh is juicy, translucent white, with a tender and slightly sweet-spicy taste, without excessive spiciness.

The variety is distinguished by high yield – 4.6–4.8 kg/sqm, is resistant to bolting and is well suited for fresh consumption. In addition, daikon Sokolov can be used in boiled and sliced form, thanks to its juicy flesh and pleasant taste. It fits perfectly into both traditional dishes and modern gastronomic recipes.
