JUVENNA — a medium-maturing parthenocarpic cucumber hybrid with female flowering, intended for cultivation in protected soil, especially in the Central and Northwest regions. The plant is strong, climbing, determinate, with medium-leafed, pentagonal-round leaves and a neat serrated edge. The main stem reaches over 1.5 meters in length, with 7-8 lateral branches, ensuring good development and fruiting. The period from germination to the start of fruiting is approximately 69-75 days.
JUVENNA fruits have a cylindrical shape, length of 22-27 cm, and diameter of about 4-4.5 cm, with green fruit weight varying from 220 to 280 grams. The fruits are smooth, with rare and weak bumps, no hollows, and a small seed cavity, which accounts for about 30% of the fruit's diameter. The fruits have a good taste, juicy, and sweet, making them ideal for salad use. The ovary is cylindrical, 4-6 cm long, with sparse white hairs.
The hybrid is resistant to short-term temperature drops and insufficient light, enhancing its adaptability in protected soil conditions. Yield is high — in winter greenhouses, it reaches up to 21.2 kg per square meter, exceeding standard hybrid yields. However, the plant is moderately susceptible to certain diseases such as gray and white rot, ascochytosis, powdery mildew, and false powdery mildew, as well as damage from aphids and whiteflies.
