Cucumber Yuri F1 — an early-maturing parthenocarpic salad hybrid, characterized by a vigorous, strongly branched plant with female flowering. 2-3 female flowers form at each node, and medium-sized leaves have a deep green color. The zucchini of this variety are elongated-cylindrical, dark green with short stripes, finely ribbed with sparse white hairs. Fruit mass ranges from 220 to 260 grams, and their taste is distinguished by excellent organoleptic qualities. Commercial yield reaches 16.5 kg per square meter, making Yuri a high-yielding variety for salad use.
The hybrid is resistant to major cucumber diseases, such as cladosporiosis, cucumber mosaic virus, powdery mildew, and downy mildew (peronosporosis). Thanks to these qualities and its early maturity (46-55 days after mass emergence), Yuri is ideal for cultivation in early spring non-heated plastic greenhouses, as well as in open ground, provided proper agronomic practices are followed. For planting, fertile medium-loam, well-draining soils are recommended, along with optimal density — 3-4 plants per square meter. Plants require support on trellises and regular pinching of lower fruiting nodes and lateral shoots for proper fruit formation.
Care for cucumber Yuri includes covering with plastic film to protect from frost, regular watering and feeding, for example, with the fertilizer «AELITA-VEGETABLE». Harvesting is performed multiple times, allowing for a steady commercial yield. Due to its characteristics and resistance, this hybrid is widely used in gardening and horticulture, and is suitable for growing on balconies with sufficient sunlight, nutrient-rich soil mix, and vertical supports for climbing.
