Cucumber Svetlana is a parthenocarpic variety intended for cultivation in spring polyethylene unheated greenhouses. This salad and canning variety begins fruiting approximately on the 45th day after emergence of seedlings. The plant is medium-branched, female-flowering type, with 2-3 female flowers per node. Leaves are medium-sized and green. Cucumbers are short, cylindrical with a short neck, green in color with short stripes and a finely wrinkled surface with medium density white hairs. Average fruit weight is about 78 grams, and flavor is excellent. Variety Svetlana is characterized by high commercial yield, reaching 10.9 kg per square meter. It is resistant to diseases such as cladosporiosis, powdery mildew (POM), cucumber mosaic (CM), and tolerant to false powdery mildew (FPM). Due to these properties, the variety is suitable for cultivation in various climatic regions, including Northern, Northwestern, Central, Volgo-Vyat, Central Chernozem, North Caucasus, and Middle Volga regions. Cucumber Svetlana fruits contain high water content (95-97%), making them especially juicy and refreshing. They also contain vitamins PP, C, and B-group, carotene, as well as important macro- and microelements, including potassium. These qualities make cucumbers not only delicious but also beneficial for health. The variety is suitable for fresh consumption and canning, expanding its culinary applications.
