SAROVSKY

The cucumber variety Sarovskiy is an early-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid developed for efficient cultivation under various climatic conditions, including the northwestern region. The plant is indeterminate, strong-growing, single-stemmed with limited branching and predominantly female flowering. Due to its cluster fruiting, 3 to 8 fruits form in each axil, ensuring uniform and prolonged fruiting without the need for additional plant formation. Side shoot growth is naturally regulated, simplifying crop care.

Sarovskiy cucumber fruits have a dark green color and large, white-spined bumps on their surface. The fruits are cylindrical or elongated-oval, reaching 11–13 cm in length and 85–130 grams in weight. The skin is thin, and the flavor lacks bitterness, making them suitable for fresh consumption, pickling, and canning. Early maturity — the first fruits appear as early as 38–42 days after germination — allows for quick harvest.

The Sarovskiy variety is well-adapted for cultivation both in open ground and under temporary film coverings, including spring greenhouses and polytunnels. Yield in film-covered greenhouses reaches 15.5 kg per square meter, while in open ground, it is about 6.6 kg per square meter. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major diseases and pests, reducing the need for chemical protection and promoting ecologically clean produce.
