PLATON F1 — an early parthenocarpic cucumber hybrid that begins fruiting 38-43 days after emergence. This hybrid is recommended for spring and late-summer/fall cultivation in both glass and plastic greenhouses, as well as in open ground. Plants are medium-height with medium-sized dark-green leaves, moderate branching, and lateral shoots with limited growth type. Female-type flowering, with 2-3 fruits forming per node, contributes to high yield.

PLATON F1 fruits are 9-12 cm long, 3.5-4.0 cm in diameter, and weigh 100-130 g. They have a uniform dark-green color, finely ribbed surface, dense, crisp, and aromatic flesh. White spines give the fruits an attractive appearance. The hybrid’s flavor qualities are high, making it suitable for fresh consumption and processing. Fruits are well-suited for long-distance transport, an important advantage for commercial cultivation.

PLATON F1 hybrid exhibits high resistance to major cucumber diseases, including cladosporiosis, true powdery mildew, cucumber mosaic virus, and root rot. It also has moderate resistance to false powdery mildew and zucchini yellow mosaic virus. To achieve high early yield, it is recommended to train plants as single-stemmed plants with main stem pruning on trellis. Harvesting fruits at the pickling, cornichon, and zucchini stages allows for versatile culinary use.
