Description Olya
Cucumber Olya — an early-maturing, high-yielding parthenocarpic hybrid of exclusively female flowering type, requiring no pollination. This indeterminate medium-height variety is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in polyethylene greenhouses. The plant exhibits resistance to several diseases, including cucumber mosaic virus, true and false powdery mildew, olive spot, leaf target spot, and cucumber vein yellowing virus, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest.

The fruits of cucumber Olya have an oval-cylindrical shape, dark green color with white pubescence and finely ribbed surface. The cucumbers are firm, crisp, weighing 75–95 grams and measuring about 9 cm in length, not prone to overgrowth and possessing an excellent flavor without bitterness. Due to these qualities, the hybrid is ideal for pickling, salting, and fresh consumption.

For successful cultivation of cucumber Olya, use fertile, well-aerated medium-loam soils. Sow seeds in soil heated to 14–15°C at a depth of 2–3 cm, then cover with plastic film. Transplant seedlings after the threat of frost, spacing them at 60x50 cm; pinch off the first four fruits and guide the stem along a trellis. Care includes regular watering with warm water after sunset, weeding, loosening soil, and 2–3 mineral fertilizer applications. Yield upon multiple harvests reaches up to 17.8 kg/m² in open ground and up to 26 kg/m² in greenhouses, with fruiting beginning 44–49 days after mass germination.
