Description

Cucumber Berezka is an early parthenocarpic hybrid intended for cultivation in plastic greenhouses, under temporary coverings, and in open ground. The plant is indeterminate, medium-height, and medium-branched with predominantly female flowering, which ensures the formation of 2-3 fruits in leaf axils and up to 8 fruits per node. The fruits are cylindrical, 10-12 cm long, dark green with sparse white hairs and small bumps, weighing 80-110 g. The fruits have a good flavor, free of bitterness, with a pleasant crunch, making them suitable for fresh consumption and canning.

The hybrid is characterized by high yield — up to 12-13 kg per square meter — as well as resistance to root rot, true powdery mildew, olive spot, and relative resistance to false powdery mildew. The plant has a strong root system and limited lateral branching, facilitating care and increasing productivity. Sowing for seedlings is recommended in late April, followed by transplanting into the ground at the 3-4 true leaf stage in late May — early June, with a planting scheme of 30x70 cm.

Cucumber Berezka is suitable for pickling and cornichons: pickling should be done daily, and cornichons — every other day. Due to its characteristics and universal use, this hybrid is popular among gardeners and farmers aiming to obtain an early and stable yield of quality cucumbers for fresh consumption and canning.
