BEARDY NANNY

Bearded Nanny Cucumber — an early-maturing, bee-pollinated hybrid with a period from germination to the first harvest of about 45 days. The plants are predominantly female-flowering, which contributes to high yield and marketability. With proper agronomy, the hybrid shows a tendency to form clusters of fruit set, increasing the number of fruits per plant. The cucumbers are short, large-warty, black-spined, weighing 80-85 grams, without voids or bitterness, with excellent flavor qualities both fresh and for canning.

The hybrid is resistant to a wide range of diseases, including cladosporiosis, cucumber mosaic virus, true and false powdery mildew, as well as root rots. To achieve maximum yield, plants are recommended to be tied to a trellis and formed into a single stem, with lateral shoots pinched off above the second or third leaf. Regular watering, weeding, loosening, and fertilization are key conditions for successful cultivation.

Fruit set of Bearded Nanny is prolonged; harvesting should be done regularly every 2-3 days to maintain high productivity. Under plastic cover, yield reaches 13-14 kg per square meter, making this hybrid attractive for cultivation both in open ground and in protected conditions.
