Description

DIMKA — this is a new high-yielding, early maturing hybrid of cucumber of cornichon type, intended for cultivation in open ground, greenhouses and polytunnels. The fruits of this variety are large, white-tipped, 7–9 cm long, with a pleasant sweet taste and aroma, without bitterness. The fruits are characterized by high uniformity, do not yellow, and possess excellent taste and pickling qualities, making them suitable for both fresh consumption and preservation.

The hybrid DIMKA is characterized by high resistance to major cucumber diseases such as cucumber mosaic virus, downy mildew and root rots. It also demonstrates stress tolerance and well withstands sharp temperature fluctuations, ensuring a stable yield under various climatic conditions. The early maturity of the variety allows harvesting the first fruits as early as 35–40 days after sowing.

The cultivation technique includes sowing seedlings in the first half of April at a depth of 0.5–1 cm, followed by transplanting into open ground or greenhouses in early May. In greenhouses, it is recommended to grow the plants on trellises, while in open ground — maintaining optimal spacing between plants. To maintain plant health and productivity, regular watering with warm water, surface soil loosening and feeding with organic and mineral fertilizers at intervals of 7–10 days are necessary. Protective measures against diseases and pests are recommended if needed.
