Description AIST
AIST — a medium-maturing cucumber variety intended for cultivation in open fields and greenhouses. The plant is vigorous, with a main stem length of 170 to 210 cm, and also short-branched and compact, which allows for space-saving planting. Fruit set begins 49-52 days after sowing, making the variety relatively early maturing. The optimal soil temperature for seed germination is 25-30°C.

The fruits of the AIST variety have an oval-cylindrical shape, a length of 8 to 14 cm, and a weight of 70 to 105 grams. The fruits are dark green with light, blurred stripes, large-bumpy with sparse but large bumps, covered with a continuous black fuzz. The fruits have a crisp texture and excellent flavor without bitterness. They do not yellow for a long time and preserve well, making them versatile for fresh consumption, as well as for canning and pickling.

The AIST variety is characterized by high resistance to major cucumber diseases, including powdery mildew, olive spot, cucumber mosaic virus, and false powdery mildew. Due to its comprehensive resistance and uniform fruit ripening, this variety is one of the best for pickling and suitable for cultivation both in open fields and under temporary plastic cover.
