Cucumber Blik

Stable Yield in Any Environment

The «Blik» cucumber is a classic achievement of the Pridnestrovian Research Institute of Agriculture, proving its viability for decades. In an era of endless pursuit of F1 hybrids that demand perfect nutrition and strict climate control, this parthenocarpic variety stands out for its flexibility and stress resistance.

Why experienced growers choose «Blik»

• Predictability: A ripening period of 50–55 days allows for precise harvest planning. You won't face surprises like sudden ripening spikes caused by minor temperature fluctuations.
• Market Standard: With 13–15 cm fruits weighing around 100 grams, this is the perfect commercial format. They are excellent for both fresh salads and pickling, maintaining a firm internal structure.
• No Pollination Needed: Being a parthenocarpic variety, it does not require bees, making it an optimal solution for unheated greenhouses and plastic tunnels where insect access is limited.

Strengths: The main advantage of «Blik» is the uniformity of its fruits. Unlike many modern hybrids that often drop ovaries during heatwaves, this cucumber demonstrates enviable stability. It is forgiving of minor irrigation errors, making it a great choice for hobbyists and farmers without high-precision fertigation systems.

Points to consider: This is not a «fast-fire» cluster hybrid capable of yielding a record in the first two weeks. Its potential lies in a smooth, long-lasting harvest cycle. If you are looking for a variety for an intensive industrial conveyor with a short turnover, you might look into newer developments, but for a balanced home garden or local markets, «Blik» remains a benchmark of reliability.
