Wheatgrass PARADOX

Cultivation experience and crop specifics

The 'Paradox' couch grass (wheatgrass) is a reliable choice for producers aiming for a stable fodder base under challenging climate conditions. Developed by experts at RosNIIPTI SK and the Saratov State Agrarian University, this variety is focused on high-quality biomass production. In practice, this crop shows remarkable resilience and a rapid recovery rate after mowing, which is essential for the overall profitability of forage production.

Agronomic factors and nutritional value

• High early-stage growth energy.
• Excellent leafiness, ensuring high nutritional value of hay and silage.
• Adaptability to dry spells, typical for the region of origin.

When working with this variety, the focus should be on timing the mowing correctly. 'Paradox' responds well to fertilizers, but even under moderate nutrient levels, it maintains a stable green mass yield. The fodder produced from this crop is highly palatable to livestock, confirming its significant breeding value. Managing these fields does not require specialized machinery — standard hay-making equipment handles the crop efficiently without any issues.
