Corn Voronezh 160 SV is a complex four-line F1 hybrid developed at the Voronezh branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution (FGNIS) Institute of Corn. This early-maturing variety is intended for grain and silage use, making it a versatile choice for farmers and livestock operations. Plants are tall, reaching 200-230 cm in height, with ears attached at a height of 95 cm. Leaves are of medium width, and the tassel is of medium size with numerous primary lateral branches, which contributes to good pollen production and high yield. Ears are weakly conical, medium length (18-22 cm), containing medium-textured kernels closer to dent type, with yellow coloring on both upper and lower parts. The 1000-kernel weight is 260-280 g. The hybrid is characterized by high yield: average grain yield reaches 6.58 t/ha, with a maximum of 9.35 t/ha. In the Central region, yield is approximately 80.5 c/ha, confirming its adaptability and productivity under various climatic conditions. The variety is rich in nutrients: starch content is 71-72%, fat — 4.5-4.7%, and protein — 8.6-8.9%. Additionally, Voronezh 160 SV exhibits good resistance to diseases, including damage from blister and dusty head smut, as well as from corn stem borer. The hybrid demonstrates high cold and drought tolerance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various regions.
