GOLDEN CORN START 165 MV is a three-line hybrid corn (Zea mays L.) with very early or early maturity. The plant, of medium height, reaches 200-240 cm, and the 1000-grain weight is 250-270 g. The hybrid is distinguished by high cold and drought resistance, ensuring stable yield under various climatic conditions. The average yield in the Central region reaches 95.4 c/ha, and in the Volga-Vyatka region — 79.4 c/ha. The hybrid is resistant to diseases such as common and dusty smut, ear diseases, and pests such as corn stem borer.
The corn ear has a cylindrical shape, 16-20 cm long, weighing about 200 g. The kernels are orange-yellow, and in the milk-wax ripening stage, they possess good taste qualities and high content of vitamins and macro- and microelements. Due to these characteristics, the hybrid is suitable for both table use and canning. Sowing is recommended in April-May to a depth of about 4 cm with row spacing of 70×50 cm, and harvest can be conducted from June to September.
The domestic breeding and seed company "Golden Corn Start" produces and selects hybrids, focusing on improving water permeability and reducing FAO of Russian hybrids. The "Golden Corn Start" hybrid line includes ten variants with FAO from 130 to 340, designed for universal use — both for grain and silage. Hybrid 165 MV is one of the representatives of this series, combining high productivity and adaptability to various growing conditions.
