Description VORONEZH 266 MV
VORONEZH 266 MV — a mid-early maize hybrid developed at the Voronezh branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution VNIIGrain. This complex four-line hybrid exhibits high resistance to diseases caused by bubble and dusty ear mites, ear diseases, and damage from the maize stem borer. Plants are tall, reaching 250–270 cm in height, with ears attached at a height of 90–100 cm. The 1000-seed mass is 300–320 g, with row numbers ranging from 16 to 18. Seeds are tooth-shaped and yellow, which contributes to their high germination rate and crop quality. This hybrid is versatile in its application and well-adapted to modern cultivation technologies. It demonstrates good cold and drought resistance, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions in the Central Chernozem region. Under natural conditions, VORONEZH 266 MV shows high grain yield — an average of 78.0 c/ha, with potential up to 8–9 t/ha, and significant silage mass output — up to 43.0 t/ha with normalized dry matter content of about 20.2 t/ha. The hybrid exhibits rapid moisture loss in grains during maturation, facilitating harvest and reducing drying costs. It responds well to fertilizer application, allowing for significantly increased yields with proper agronomic practices. Tall plant stature and good leafiness ensure optimal photosynthetic nutrition and protection of ears, contributing to stable and high-quality harvests.
