Trubizh SV — an early-maturing corn hybrid developed by NAAN of Ukraine, intended for cultivation in the Polissia and Steppe regions. This hybrid is characterized by high yield — from 13 to 15 tons per hectare, with grain output of 82–85%. The vegetation period is 107–115 days, allowing its use in areas with shortened harvest windows. Plants reach a height of 220–250 cm, with ears 19–22 cm long, attached at a height of 83–87 cm. Grain is dent-shaped, yellow, with a 1000-grain weight of 260–290 g, ensuring high productivity and quality of harvest. The Trubizh SV hybrid is resistant to major diseases and pests, as well as highly drought- and cold-tolerant. It is ecologically plastic and tolerant to planting density, making it adaptable to various agro-climatic conditions. Thanks to good water shedding and ability to withstand adverse weather conditions, this variety is suitable for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe regions, where stable yield and high productivity are essential. For successful cultivation of Trubizh SV, its soil and climate requirements must be considered. Corn is warm-loving; seeds germinate at 8–10°C, and seedlings emerge at 10–12°C. Early planting in cold and waterlogged soil may reduce germination. High profitability is achieved on fertile soils with good water retention and permeability. Under conditions of insufficient moisture, it is important to apply water-conserving soil treatment technologies and stress-resistant agents, which help maximize the genetic potential of the hybrid and achieve high grain yield.
