Andres

Corn hybrid Andres is a medium-maturing, simple hybrid of Ukrainian selection with maturity group FAO 350. This hybrid is intended for dual use — both for grain and silage, making it a universal solution for various agronomic tasks. Plants reach a height of about 280 cm, and ears are attached at approximately 110 cm. Grain is cream-colored with a toothed shape, with 16 to 18 rows per ear and 36 to 40 kernels per row. Ear stalk color is red, and moisture content is 15-16%, allowing harvest even after the first frosts. Hybrid Andres has high yield potential — up to 150 ц/ha, with an average yield over test years of about 100 ц/ha. It demonstrates very high drought resistance, rated 9 out of 10, and is resistant to a range of diseases and stress factors, including helminthosporiosis, stem and ear fusarium, and gray mold. Initial growth energy is rated 8 points, and lodging resistance is rated 9, ensuring stable and reliable yields under various climatic conditions. The hybrid is well-suited for monoculture and adapts to various soil preparation technologies, including conventional, minimal, and zero tillage. Recommended plant density varies by region: in Polissia — 70-85 thousand plants per hectare, in forest-steppe — 65-75 thousand, and in steppe — 55-65 thousand plants per hectare. The end of the vegetation period falls at the beginning to mid-October, enabling effective harvest planning and suitability for various agroclimatic zones.
