Description SHUMIKA MV
SHUMIKA MV is a three-line mid-late hybrid maize (Zea mays L.) intended for cultivation in the North Caucasus and Lower Volga regions. The plant is characterized by high yield and resistance to several diseases, such as southern helminthosporiosis and stalk rot, ensuring reliable and stable harvests. However, the hybrid is susceptible to bacterial disease, ear fusarium, and stalk borer infestation, which requires attention during agronomic practices.

The plant is tall with a long, weakly conical ear and colored stalk. The tassel features a long main axis that forms a small or medium angle with lateral branches, which are mostly long and slightly curved. The kernels are toothed, yellow in the upper part, and the anthocyanin color intensity of the silk varies from weak to medium. The seeds are treated with fungicides and insecticides, enhancing protection against diseases and pests.

The hybrid exhibits high plasticity and adaptability to growing conditions, making it suitable for various agroclimatic zones. The recommended planting density at harvest is 65-70 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered zones and 60-65 thousand per hectare in less watered zones. Due to low grain moisture at harvest and high yield, SHUMIKA MV ranks among the leaders in its maturity group.
