Maize ZERNOGRADESKY 288 MV

Consistent performance in the field

When selecting the Zernogradsky 288 MV hybrid from the Don Agricultural Research Center, operators prioritize predictability. This three-way hybrid does not require delicate agricultural technology management, proving forgiving of minor deviations in planting schedules. The flint grain type ensures excellent grain weight, simplifying logistics and storage: the grain suffers less damage during threshing and transport, maintaining high commercial quality.

Operational durability

During the vegetation period, this hybrid demonstrates high resilience after stressful weather events. If disease risks arise, Zernogradsky 288 MV holds up firmly: a robust resistance to Fusarium, Helminthosporium, and stalk rot allows for savings on fungicide applications. In practical terms, this means fewer passes with machinery and more predictable fuel consumption.

Planting recommendations

• For maximum grain yield, maintain a planting density of 65,000–70,000 plants/ha.
• If silage production is the priority or you are working in limited moisture conditions, a density of 60,000–65,000 plants/ha is optimal.

The medium-early maturation period allows for efficient harvesting schedules, avoiding peak loads on combine harvesters. The hybrid exhibits steady moisture dry-down, which reduces post-harvest drying costs, making it one of the most cost-effective solutions for farms seeking the right balance between high-quality silage and grain yield.
