Shstandart — mid-late maturing grain hybrid of maize, Ukrainian selection Maïs with FAO 400, intended for grain production. This hybrid is characterized by dent yellow kernels, 1000-kernel weight ranging from 300 to 350 grams, conical ear shape with 14–16 rows of kernels. Plant height reaches approximately 240–255 cm, with ear attachment at about 130 cm. The vegetative period is 119–126 days, allowing the hybrid to successfully develop under mid-late maturing conditions. Hybrid Shstandart has high productivity potential, achieving yields up to 15.5 tons per hectare. It demonstrates excellent adaptability to various soil-climatic conditions, particularly in the Forest-Steppe and Steppe zones of Ukraine, where it consistently performs well even under dry climatic conditions. Among agronomic advantages are high initial growth energy, semi-vertical leaf positioning, which facilitates efficient sunlight utilization, and compatibility with sulfonylurea herbicides without restrictions. Shstandart exhibits high resistance to diseases and stress factors, including gray leaf spot and pests such as corn borer, as well as high resistance to lodging. These traits make it a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve stable and high yields of grain maize. The hybrid was registered in 2013 and remains popular due to its combination of productivity, resistance, and adaptability.
