INSTITUTSKAYA 2001 — this is a three-line hybrid corn (Zea mays L.) of medium-late maturity, intended for grain production. The plant is characterized by medium or high height, a long and slightly conical ear with short or medium-length stalk. The grain is dent-shaped, yellow in the upper part. The tassel has medium or late flowering time, with the main axis positioned higher than the upper lateral branch, and medium-length lateral branches forming a medium or large angle with the main axis. The intensity of anthocyanin coloration of the silk varies from very weak to weak. The hybrid is included in the State Register for the North Caucasus region and is recommended for cultivation exclusively in the Kabardino-Balkar Republic. The average grain yield in the region is 64.6 centners per hectare, slightly below the standard. INSTITUTSKAYA 2001 exhibits resistance to southern helminthosporiosis, moderate susceptibility to root rot, and very low infection by common smut. Additionally, the hybrid is moderately affected by bacterial ear rot and Fusarium ear rot, as well as stalk borer. This corn hybrid demonstrates good adaptation to the conditions of the North Caucasus region, making it an optimal choice for agricultural production in the Kabardino-Balkar Republic. Its resistance to major diseases and pests contributes to a stable yield and reduced losses during cultivation.
