Description Polonez 251
Corn Polonez 251 is a medium-early hybrid with FAO 280, intended for grain production. The vegetation period ranges from 91 to 105 days, and the days to flowering are 65-70. The kernels are dent-shaped, yellow with a red hull, and the 1000-kernel weight varies from 250 to 290 grams. Plants reach heights from 220 to 300 cm, with ears attached at 100-130 cm, containing 12-16 rows of kernels, each row having 39-43 kernels. The hybrid is characterized by high yield: under production conditions, it ranges from 8.0 to 12.1 t/ha, and on trial plots, it reaches 12.8 t/ha.

Polonez 251 is designed for farmers aiming to obtain an early harvest without additional costs for drying. It is ideal for early planting due to its rapid water release and high cold resistance. The hybrid exhibits high stress tolerance (8 points), lodging resistance (9 points), and drought tolerance (8 points), ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions.

Moreover, Polonez 251 demonstrates excellent protection against diseases and pests. It is resistant to stalk and root rot (9 points), rust (8 points), gummy mold (8 points), powdery mildew (7 points), and corn borer (8 points). The recommended planting density is 65-70 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered zones and 60-65 thousand plants per hectare in poorly-watered zones. Seeds are treated with fungicides and insecticides, providing additional protection and facilitating successful cultivation.
