EUROSEED Orylska

The hybrid sweet corn Orylska is a high-yielding seed material developed jointly by the Institute of Steppe Agriculture of NAAN Ukraine and OLEON Genetics, and presented by EuroSem. This simple hybrid has an FAO rating of 320 and is suitable for cultivation in both grain and silage directions. The potential yield of the hybrid reaches 155 centners per hectare of grain and 850 centners per hectare of silage. Plants reach a height of up to 260 cm, with large, dent-type kernels. The hybrid is characterized by high cold resistance and resistance to lodging, ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions. Orylska exhibits high tolerance to a range of diseases, including blister and smut, helminthosporiosis, rust, as well as stalk and root rots. Additionally, the hybrid is resistant to fusarium and other head diseases, enabling successful cultivation even under stressful conditions and in monoculture systems. To ensure a strong start and uniform, healthy seedlings, seeds undergo quality pre-sowing treatment with the product Fever and the microfertilizer Eurostim Premium. It is recommended to follow the conservation cultivation technology, including fertilization in the 3-5 leaf stage using microfertilizers, such as the domestic brand Yarilo 'Corn' or similar products. For weed control, post-emergence herbicides containing active ingredients such asnicosulfuron, 2,4-D, florasulfuron, and rimsulfuron are applied. In the 3-5 leaf stage, insecticides based on imidacloprid and lambda-cyhalothrin may be used. The optimal planting density is 75–80 thousand plants per hectare under adequate moisture and 65–70 thousand plants per hectare under insufficient moisture.
