MV 251

MV 251 is a medium-early hybrid sugar corn with a vegetation period of 91 to 105 days, designed for early harvest without the need for additional drying. The hybrid is characterized by high moisture release rate, which reduces harvesting costs. It is recommended for cultivation in areas with sufficient and insufficient moisture, demonstrating excellent drought and low-temperature resistance.

Agronomic characteristics of MV 251 include dent-type kernels, plant height from 220 to 300 cm, and ears with 12-16 rows of kernels and 39-43 kernels per row. The hybrid shows high resistance to lodging, drought, and stress conditions, confirmed by ratings of 9, 8, and 8 respectively. Additionally, MV 251 demonstrates high tolerance to major corn diseases such as downy mildew, rust, helminthosporiosis, stalk and root rot, as well as to the corn borer.

MV 251 seeds are treated with fungicides and insecticides, providing additional protection for plants in early development stages. The recommended planting density is 65-70 thousand plants per hectare in areas with sufficient moisture and 60-65 thousand in areas with insufficient moisture. The hybrid has already proven its effectiveness in practice, for example, in the Zhytomyr region, yields reached 11.8 tons per hectare, indicating its high productivity and reliability for farmers.
