Description NK Columbia
The NK Columbia (NK Cobalt) corn hybrid is a mid-season simple hybrid developed by Syngenta for grain production. It belongs to the FAO 320 group and features a dent-type kernel. The potential yield of this hybrid is 14–15 tons per hectare, ensuring high and stable productivity under proper growing conditions. Seeds are supplied in packages of 80,000 units, allowing optimal planning of sowing areas.

The plant demonstrates average growth rates in the early vegetative period and has an erect leaf type, which enhances photosynthetic efficiency. Under favorable conditions, NK Columbia can form two economically viable ears, with an average grain yield per ear reaching 83%. The hybrid exhibits high drought resistance and tolerance to several diseases, including helminthosporiosis, blister rust, ear and stem fungal diseases.

The recommended plant density at harvest varies depending on the climatic zone: for forest-steppe regions, 60–75 thousand plants per hectare is optimal, and for steppe regions — 45–55 thousand. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, NK Columbia is suitable for cultivation in all climatic zones of Ukraine, ensuring a stable and high grain yield.
