Description New
Corn New is a mid-season hybrid of universal purpose with maturity group FAO 330, developed by the Institute of Grain Crops of NAAN of Ukraine and the company APK MAIS. This hybrid is suitable for cultivation both for grain and silage, making it a versatile solution for agricultural producers. Plant height reaches 260-280 cm, ear attachment height is 100-105 cm, and the number of rows of kernels varies from 14 to 16. The 1000-seed mass is within the range of 290-310 g, contributing to a good yield potential of up to 150 centners per hectare, although actual yields depend on the region and growing conditions and usually amount to 90-100 centners per hectare. Hybrid New is characterized by high resistance to various stress factors and diseases. It has high drought resistance (8 out of 10), cold resistance (9 out of 10), resistance to Fusarium, rust, and lodging (8-9 out of 10), as well as resistance to stem borer. These characteristics ensure the ecological stability and reliability of the hybrid under various climatic conditions. Due to its high water shedding and remontant nature, the plant adapts well to different soil-climatic zones, including Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Kharkiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions. Recommendations for cultivating hybrid New include optimal plant density: 55-60 thousand plants per hectare under insufficient moisture, and 70-75 thousand plants per hectare under adequate moisture. The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to lodging and performs well on various soil types, including sandy soils. Thanks to these qualities, corn New is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain a stable and high yield under diverse natural conditions.
