Magepi CS

Magepi CS is a simple dent corn hybrid with high yield potential, intended for grain and biomass production. The plant is characterized by high stature — about 310 cm, with a strong stalk and ear attachment height of approximately 140 cm. Ears contain an average of 16 rows of kernels, with 30–35 kernels per row, and 1000-kernel weight ranging from 270 to 290 grams. The hybrid exhibits rapid moisture removal at the end of the vegetative cycle, facilitating harvest, as well as high starch content — around 59%.

Magepi CS demonstrates good resistance to major corn diseases, including gray leaf spot, Fusarium, downy mildew, and helminthosporium. The plant shows high lodging resistance and satisfactory drought and cold tolerance, making it well-adapted to various climatic conditions. The excellent StayGreen trait promotes effective photosynthesis and harvest plasticity, positively affecting yield and quality of grain and stalk.

To achieve maximum productivity, it is recommended to apply fertilization in the 3–5 leaf stage using microfertilizers, such as the domestic brand Yarilo 'Corn' or similar formulations. Weed control is performed using post-emergence herbicides with active ingredients such asnicosulfuron, 2,4-D, florasulam, and rimsulfuron, strictly following manufacturer recommendations. Insecticides based on imidacloprid and lambda-cyhalothrin are applied for pest control in the 3–5 leaf stage. Recommended planting density varies depending on soil moisture: 60–70 thousand plants per hectare under adequate moisture, and 75–80 thousand under insufficient moisture.
