Maize KRAKEN

Stable yields and sweet flavor: operating the 'Kraken' hybrid

The French selection from Mas Seeds, specifically the 'Kraken' hybrid, delivers exactly the performance you expect from high-quality seed stock. With proper soil preparation and good crop rotation, the hybrid shows excellent resistance to lodging and common corn diseases.

Field performance and agronomy

During planting, 'Kraken' demonstrates excellent seedling vigor. Germination is uniform, which significantly simplifies maintenance during the early vegetative phase. In terms of crop care, the hybrid is responsive to micro-fertilizers but does not require excessive chemical input. Under a proper irrigation regime, the ears form uniformly, filling well and maintaining excellent commercial qualities.

• High adaptability to various soil types, which is essential when working on leased land.
• Resilience to environmental stress factors — the hybrid maintains its growth momentum even during sharp temperature fluctuations.
• Excellent tip fill: the kernels are tightly packed, and gaps at the top are virtually non-existent.

The bottom line

The kernels are juicy and sweet, making the produce ideal for both the fresh market and processing. The harvest campaign with this hybrid runs smoothly: the ears detach easily, and waste percentage is minimal. It is a reliable tool that allows for precise production planning.
