Maize IZYASLAV 220 MV

The hybrid corn Izyaslav 220 MV is a medium-maturing, simple modified hybrid developed by the company "MAIS" and intended for cultivation in various natural zones of Ukraine, especially in the forest-steppe and Polissia regions. The vegetation period ranges from 98 to 114 days depending on regional climatic conditions. Plants reach a height of approximately 220 cm, with ears forming at a height of 90 cm, having a cylindrical shape and containing 14-16 rows of yellow dent kernels. The 1000-kernel weight varies from 240 to 280 grams, and grain yield reaches 82-85%.

The hybrid exhibits high initial growth energy even with early planting and seedling resistance to short-term cold, tolerating soil temperatures as low as +9°C. It has high heat and drought tolerance, scoring 8 out of 9, and maximum resistance to gray leaf spot, as well as high resistance to southern rust and corn borer. Izyaslav 220 MV is characterized by strong ear attachment and resistance to lodging both during physiological maturity and up to 30 days after.

The hybrid is versatile in application: suitable for both grain and silage production. Under optimal conditions in the Polissia region, potential grain yield reaches 129 centners per hectare, and silage yield reaches up to 520 centners per hectare. Additionally, the hybrid features high grain drying speed after maturity, reducing losses during harvest. It is compatible with sulfonylurea herbicides without restrictions and exhibits moderate adaptability to resource-saving and energy-saving cultivation technologies.
