Description Turia
Turia corn is a mid-late maturing hybrid with FAO maturity group 400, developed by Maïs. It is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 152 centners per hectare under optimal growing conditions. Plants reach a height of about 270 cm, with cylindrical ears attached at approximately 120 cm. The grain is dent type, large, with 14 to 18 rows, yellow in color, and 1000-grain weight ranging from 280–340 g, ensuring easy threshing and high product quality.

The Turia hybrid is highly drought-tolerant and adaptable to various soil types and agronomic conditions, making it especially suitable for cultivation in steppe regions of Ukraine, such as Kherson, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kirovohrad regions. It possesses genetic resistance to diseases such as Fusarium, rust, and blister beetle, as well as pests including the corn borer. Strong stalks provide resistance to lodging, helping preserve yield.

The hybrid is versatile in use: it can be grown for grain or silage. Due to its optimal starch content, Turia grain is valued for processing. With intensive cultivation practices, the hybrid can fully realize its biological potential, ensuring stable and high yields even under stress and water deficit conditions.
