The hybrid corn DN Dura is a medium-maturing, high-yielding hybrid with FAO 340, developed by the State Institution "Institute of Grain Crops of NAAN of Ukraine" and produced by LLC "Rost Agro". It is intended for cultivation under challenging climatic conditions, including steppe zones with insufficient moisture and irrigation. The plant reaches a height of 250-270 cm, with a cylindrical ear 22-24 cm long and 14-16 rows of kernels. The kernels are yellow-orange, dent-type, with a 1000-kernel weight of 320-350 g, and a grain yield of 80-82%. The ear attachment height is within 100-110 cm, and the ear stalk is red.
DN Dura is distinguished by high resistance to lodging, cold, pests, and major diseases, as well as enhanced drought tolerance, ensuring stable yields even under adverse weather conditions. The hybrid is of universal character, suitable both for grain production and silage, making it a profitable choice for various agronomic purposes. It has replaced the hybrid "Monica", surpassing it in drought resistance and yield stability.
To achieve maximum yield potential, which can reach 14 tons per hectare, intensive agronomic practices are recommended. This includes deep plowing, leveling of sowing areas, application of complex fertilizers with high nitrogen and phosphorus content, herbicide use, and foliar feeding. The hybrid can be sown early, as it has high cold tolerance, allowing it to withstand spring frosts. Planting density at harvest time is 70-75 thousand per hectare in the forest-steppe zone and 50-55 thousand per hectare in the steppe region.
