Description Elidium
Elidium sweet corn seeds are a medium-early, three-row hybrid of the grain type with high yield potential, reaching 120-125 centners per hectare. Plants grow to a height of 240-250 cm, with ears 19-20 cm long and 14-16 rows of kernels. The kernels are dent-shaped, yellow, weighing 280-300 g per 1000 kernels, with a harvest moisture content of 15-18%. The hybrid exhibits rapid growth in early development stages and high water release speed during maturation, facilitating timely harvest. Elidium demonstrates high resistance to adverse factors: cold resistance is rated 8-9 points, drought resistance — 8-10, resistance to Fusarium and stalk rot — 9-10, and resistance to lodging and seedling diseases — 8-9. A strong stalk and high resistance to ear and stalk rot ensure reliable yields even under adverse climatic conditions. The hybrid has good adaptability and intermediate maturity group (FAO 210-280), making it suitable for various regions. For maximum yield increase, it is recommended to apply microfertilizers and humates as foliar treatments during critical growth stages — at 3-5 and 7-9 true leaves. This promotes seed germination energy, enhances vegetative mass and root system growth, improves nutrient uptake, and reduces nitrate content in the grain. Optimal planting density varies from 55-65 thousand plants per hectare under insufficient moisture to 75-85 thousand under adequate moisture levels.
