The P8409 corn hybrid is a medium-early simple hybrid with a dent kernel type and FAO 260, intended for grain production and ethanol manufacturing. It features rapid early growth and high adaptability to various climatic conditions, making it suitable for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Northern Steppe regions of Ukraine. Plants reach a height of 250-270 cm, with an ear attachment height of 85-90 cm, forming a strong stalk and well-developed root system, ensuring resistance to adverse factors and good regenerative capacity.

The P8409 hybrid exhibits high disease resistance, including genetic resistance to gray leaf spot and southern rust, as well as ear rot. Drought tolerance is rated as very high, confirmed by a score of 9. The hybrid has good water shedding, which promotes high-quality grain maturation and reduces losses during harvest. The number of rows per ear ranges from 14 to 18, and the number of kernels per row varies from 34 to 45, ensuring a high yield potential of up to 15 tons per hectare.

The recommended planting density depends on growing conditions: under favorable conditions, the optimal density is 75-80 thousand plants per hectare, while under unfavorable conditions, 65-70 thousand. The hybrid is suitable for early, medium, and late planting, with a recommendation for medium to high planting density. The thousand-grain weight ranges from 270 to 330 grams, indicating high-quality seed material. All these characteristics make P8409 a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve a stable and high corn yield.
