EFFECTIVE SV

EFFECTIVE SV — an early-maturing three-line hybrid corn (Zea mays L.) intended for grain production. It is registered in the State Register for the Central Chernozem region and has a vegetation period of approximately 113 days, meeting the standard level. The plant is of medium height with curved leaves of medium width and rounded apex of the first leaf. Flowering occurs early, contributing to timely harvest formation. The hybrid demonstrates high yield: average grain yield in the region is about 71.9 centners per hectare, with a maximum of 138.3 centners per hectare, at a moisture content of 21% at harvest.

The hybrid exhibits high cold and drought resistance, making it adaptable to various climatic conditions in Russia. It is resistant to several diseases, including southern helminthosporium, blister and powdery mildew, and shows low susceptibility to blister mildew under field conditions. The stem is resistant to lodging, enhancing its reliability during the vegetation and harvest periods.

EFFECTIVE SV has high feed value and good digestibility due to low lignin content. The potential yield of silage green mass reaches 320–400 centners per hectare. Dry matter content is 32–33%, total energy (TE) — 11.4 MJ, organic matter digestibility — 79.8%, net lactation energy (NEL) — 7 MJ. Grain is dent-shaped, with an orange upper part and yellow lower part; the number of rows of kernels per ear varies from 14 to 16. These characteristics make the hybrid attractive for both grain and feed production.
