DMS Blue

DMS Blue is a mid-early hybrid of sweet corn developed by the leading company MAIS, selected in Ukraine. It is intended for cultivation using intensive technology across the entire territory of Ukraine, including steppe, forest-steppe, and Polissia zones. The hybrid demonstrates high responsiveness to agronomic practices and exhibits rapid growth during early development stages. Thanks to the Stay Green effect, the plant retains green mass longer, which contributes to the quality maturation of seed mass and faster moisture release.

DMS Blue corn shows high resistance to adverse climatic conditions. It is practically insensitive to cold, allowing sowing at soil temperatures as low as 9 to 11 degrees Celsius. The hybrid tolerates heat and drought well and demonstrates resistance to major corn diseases such as smut and downy mildew. Additionally, plants are resistant to pests, including corn borer, and have low susceptibility to lodging, facilitating harvest and improving crop retention.

Morphologically, DMS Blue reaches a height of approximately 250 cm, with ear attachment at around 95 cm. The ear shape is conical-cylindrical, with 14–16 rows of bright yellow, dent-type kernels. The hybrid can form two medium-intensity ears. Yield potential varies by region: approximately 110 centners per hectare in steppe zones, 148 centners in forest-steppe, and up to 150 centners in Polissia. Recommended planting density also varies by region and ranges from 45,000 to 80,000 plants per hectare.
